There is no such entity as a model protein and for this reason any
search for the crystallization conditions of a "new" protein is
undertaken de novo. for this. Because of their individuality the history
of the crystallization of biological macromolecules is anecdotal.

P.S. Why not choose as a "model" protein one that is difficult to
crystallize, such as T4 ligase?
